Quality on Demand Profiles

The Quality on Demand API (QoD) allows you to share your application performance requirements with the mobile network. When using the API, there is a set of predefined profiles that correspond with different levels of service that you can choose from that adapt various network characteristics.

Vonage Aggregated Profiles

Each mobile operator will have a different set of profiles for their network. To make this easier, Vonage have provided a set of aggregated profiles that provide similar effects across all of the operator networks:

Profile Effect
LOW_LATENCY Aims for stable latency under congestion, bitrates are expected to be low.
BITRATE_BASIC Throughput is prioritized up to certain lower limit (e.g. 2Mbps).
BITRATE_MED Throughput is prioritized up to certain medium limit (e.g. 10 Mbps).
BITRATE_HIGH Throughput is prioritized up to a certain high limit (e.g. 20Mbps).
ENHANCED_PLUS Provide enhanced service without explicit guarantees.

The profiles for each operator are broken down on a per country basis below. There, you'll find which Vonage aggregated profile each operator profile has been mapped to, along with details on the effects, restrictions, and pricing for each operator profile.

Note: Note: If your chosen profile is not available, the QoD session will not start and you will receive an error via a callback.

TI_B2C The connectivity service defined by the TI_B2C profile will have better performance than the default connectivity service that would be provided in the same location, at the same time and with the same mobile device. Duration of the session: Maximum duration is 1 day To be determined
