Recap of the Vonage Network API Premiere at Codemotion 2024
Published on June 11, 2024

The Vonage team had the amazing pleasure of sponsoring and participating in Codemotion Madrid on May 21st and 22nd at the spectacular Kinepolis movie theatre.

How often do you see conference talks presented on a big movie screen?! The event drew over 2,000 developers and technology enthusiasts, showcasing the growing interest in the latest software architectures, cloud computing, security, and AI trends.

The atmosphere at Codemotion was great, and our booth received many visitors excited to learn more about the Vonage APIs. One of the highlights was our raffle, where we gave away a backpack with an LED screen – an absolute hit among attendees!!

Presenting the Network APIs

Attending the event provided the perfect opportunity for us to present and discuss our new set of APIs, the Network APIs, designed to connect companies with network operators' capabilities, like silent authentication using mobile data or avoiding fraud by determining if the SIM card linked to the phone number has recently changed. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees particularly interested in improving fraud detection through their services.

Laura Lacarra, head of the Open Gateway DevRel team at Telefonica, represented us by speaking about the CAMARA project. She explained why this project is unique in the history of telcos, how it works, and the key players involved in every API call. Laura showed the potential of the SIM Swap API using some live demos, including the demo from our blog post “Improve Your Multifactor Auth with Verify and SIM Swap API.” Thank you, Laura!
